team.blue announces the acquisition of Really Simple SSL and Complianz. Both are leading plugins for WordPress websites, used by over 6 million websites around the globe. Founders Rogier Lankhorst, Aert Hulsebos, Leon Wimmenhoeve and Peter Tak started Really Simple SSL and Complianz with the ambition of empowering WordPress website owners, especially those with small businesses, web developers and agencies to prioritise security, compliance, and privacy management without sacrificing user experience.

Really Simple SSL

Really Simple SSL started as a one-click solution for enabling SSLs and migrating a site to https. The plugin has evolved to have extended security features, including WordPress hardening and vulnerability detection. With over 6 million installations worldwide, it is among the top 10 most used WordPress plugins.

Welcoming Really Simple SSL to the group aligns with our strategy of continually improving our WordPress ecosystem and providing our customers with the best possible WordPress experience in a secure environment. We are excited to keep developing this plugin's existing features and adding more functionality in the future.

Complianz

Complianz is an online compliance plugin that aims to simplify complying with international privacy legislation. The plugin offers a comprehensive site scan, document generation, cookie and consent management capability. The Complianz plugin has more than 800,000 installations and currently supports 7 legal regions.

This transaction will strengthen team.blue's growing SaaS compliance cluster, led by iubenda, which has also recently acquired consentmanager and the Shopify plugin 'GDPR Legal Cookie'.

Joining team.blue will allow both companies to scale while their team remains focused on new product development. We are excited that the management team will remain in place to continue to drive the business post-closing. They will have access to resources and support and the opportunity to introduce the plugins to team.blue's existing WordPress customers.
